🇨🇱 2023 Texas Meet and Greet 🇨🇱

I've put on several Texas Meet and Greets throughout the years. I normally invite several VS motorcycle sites to join. Currently the Harley Street forum, Harley-Davidson forum, Vulcan Forum and Vstar forum has attended past events. I'm currently planning a one day Meet and Greet at Belton Lake this spring. We are currently up to about 15 that have signed up.

Proposed date: Saturday, April 22, 2023
Location: Belton Lake

I would like to invite everyone to attend. It's a very simple and informal gathering. We normally ride in several small groups, have a nice lunch, talk, enjoy each other's ride and then head home. If anyone is interested in attending, let me know. This is a family event with spouses and families invited. Kicking tires, either 2 or 4 is always fun.

Here's a quick video from 2021.

And from 2020.

So if you are interested at all, please let me know. I'll do the planning, but help is always appreciated. This has turned out to be a very nice event in the past and looking to expand it.

Belton Lake is centrally located from the major Texas Metropolitan areas. The circle on map below is 150 miles. Texas is big, so finding a central meeting place is tough. Any ideas, suggestions of overall thoughts?

We've given out awards for bragging rights, most miles driven, most members from one forum, newest bike, oldest bike, etc.

Wanted to bump this. Even if you're not in Texas maybe sent info to a friend. It should be a nice one day event.

Going to start bumping this thread often, we're getting close. We have right at 15 folks attending from several forums. Are you close enough to make it.

@GWdan, have you thought about coming? It would be a long day, but doable. Looks like @AlanRides, @CarGuy, @ironbuttbill and myself are going with about 15 others are going. It's basically a Ride to Eat.

Good Morning all! One week from today will be the forum Texas Meet & Greet at Lake Belton, TX. I'll be leaving San Marcos to meet up with @lesblank in Johnson City to head there. If anyone else finds it convenient to meet with either of us post something and we'll let you know where we can find each other.

I appreciate the invitation, Les, but to date my RTE trips take 1-1 1/4 hr max. So I gotta say a ride to TX ain’t in my butt’s future. Matter of fact, I do plan on a trip TNR down your way this fall. Maybe we can work out a meet then. But for now, thanks for the thought. 😎

@lesblank or anyone attending.
There is someone on the Versys site wanting to attend this. He's in Marble Falls. Looking for more details. When he first responded a couple of weeks ago, I thought all the details were in the original post. I just re-read and realized there is a "sign up". Sorry, I should have relayed this earlier.
If anyone has any info I can relay it would be appreciated. Unfortunately I'm only going to be online for the next few hours. If it's later than that maybe you can join the Versys site long enough to relay info.

Hoping at the very least if he shows up at the lake, he won't have any problem finding a group of MC's. 😆

I hope this gets to you in time. I'm not sure how much more info you need, but he is certainly welcome. I doubt @lesblank has any issues with that. The sign up wasn't mandatory, just a way to get an idea of who's going. The only "details" are in post #1. We're all planning on around noon. There's 4 of us that'll be passing through Marble Falls around 9:30 or so, but without knowing if he/you'll get this message I really can't suggest a meetup spot where he can ride with us, but if he keeps an eye out for 4 ugly riders around that time it'll be us. He can fall in behind us. My bike and Les's are probably the most noticable. Mine is a Nomad black/white and Les's is bright orange (?) trike. Then again, @ironbuttbill will have a beer keg mounted on his luggage rack. Hope he makes it, and hope this helps.

I think he's looking for time and specific location. I will tell him around noon at the lake. I assume he won't have a problem finding you guys at the lake.

If you know the Marble Falls area, maybe I could relay a location to meet there earlier.

@bpe, Hwy 281 is the main road through Marble Falls that we'll be traveling on. There's the BlueBonnet Cafe with parking behind it. A local landmark. We'll swing in to pick him up. Should be around 9:30ish. Unless you can get back to me in time to confirm we won't wait. Let me know if you can!

^ I will relay that info. I won't have time for a conformation from him. So don't worry about waiting. I will suggest to him to get there a bit earlier.

We were near the Dead Fish Grill but disbanded around 2 to hopefully avoid some weather. Sorry we missed him.

We waited at the Bluebonnet Cafe for about 10 minutes, but started heading out at 9:30. He never showed up. Too bad we missed him. As for me, I didn't know where at the lake either, but the guy in front of me did a great job getting me there.

Wow, what a great day, high was 75, partly sunny. The perfect opportunity to ride with friends and meet others at the Park. We had 7 bikes and 11 people attend from several forums.

When bikers get together there's always food. We had planned to eat at a local restaurant. Then several cars came by and told us the Local 4H Club was having a BBQ fundraiser right down the hill. So of course we have to support the local kids. Not sure who cook the brisket and sausage, but was really good.

Wanted to thank all that attended. This will be a yearly event and hopefully others will join after they see what they missed. Again, thanks for a great day.

PS, those who watch the Relive video and see the top speed. PLEASE, DON'T MENTION IT TO CARLA. It's a not so nice conversation right now. See, these two sport bikes come up, pass me in my lane scaring Carla. Well that made me mad. They were smaller bikes, 600?, and I wanted to get beside then to do a one finger salute. Kinda got carried away, but did catch them and gave them my salute. The two riders were kinda surprised I caught them and actually gave me a thumbs up after I one finger saluted them. Who would have thought a trike, two up, could go that fast. Actually think it had a bit more but traffic was coming up. Disclaimer, I don't recommend or encourage such behavior.
