Let's start a daily ride thread. Maybe you went out on a ride without a set destination. We can post those rides in this thread.

I'll start.

Got a short ride in. Plan was for a longer ride but way to much traffic. I normally don't ride on weekends, but was to nice a day not to.

Beautiful weather in the SE corner of Texas today, partly cloudy, temperatures between 68° and 71° from about 1130 to 1700. Plan was to go get the scavenger hunt target from another forum and then grab some lunch after church. Checked the scavenger hunt thread before taking off and saw that someone beat me to the target, but we were still hungry, so off to lunch. On the way to lunch I zigzagged around a little looking for the new target, but struck out swinging. Made it to the Pine Tree Lodge in LaBelle for a bite to eat and as we were finishing a zydeco band cranked up. Pretty good band, but they had a problem with the front of house speakers which really messed up their sound. I think they were impervious to the issue since their stage monitors were apparently working and they could hear themselves. Having played in front of many folks of unknown technical abilities I always hated seeing some random audience member approaching the stage to offer their sketchy advice and usually incorrect solution(s) to whatever problem they thought they should help with (usually in the middle of a song while I'm trying to play/sing/tweak the mix/etc.), so I waited a few songs to see if they or one of their entourage figured it out. It didn't happen, so I eventually approached the stage as subtlety as I could and was able to convey to the guy that looked like he was in charge that their front of house speakers weren't working. The band kept on playing while he did some troubleshooting, ran back to his stash of extra cables and swapped one out without success. He finally got it partially resolved by making some changes at the amp rack, but never got the vocals where they should been in terms of volume. I still enjoyed their playing and song selection, sometimes using multiple squeeze box players and being generally entertaining, sure would have been better if their sound was fixed. If I can figure who they were maybe I'll see if they want to hire me to run sound for them.....LOL

After killing an hour and half at lunch we took off for Beaumont in search of that scavenger hunt target and I was able to find it.

Still having GoPro problems, maybe I can find some decent video, but probably nothing exciting. Not too much exciting riding around the Gulf Coastal Plain anyway.....pretty flat and straight.

I guess I am a little surprised that Bandera does a Mardi Gras thing......but I guess the more the merrier! Looks like folks were in a partying mood.....

Got a short ride in today. Carla's debit card was compromised, 🤬 , the other day and needed a new one. She was told it would be 7 to 10 days if mailed or we could go into San Antonio and get it immediately. A few minutes later I see her walking into living room with helmet in hand shouting "let's go". We took a scenic route on the way there and more direct way home. Was a little windy but temps were great.

Haven't ridden since February 5 due to yucky weather, various household minor illnesses, conflicting schedules and need of a new rear tire. Finally got the tire mounted that's been in my garage for 9 months and the weather was good today, so off we went. Being a nice weekend meant there were a good number of others with the same thoughts and then a bunch of cagers who must have just been bored so they were out seeing if they could do stupid things and keep me on my toes.

Weather started out clear and warm, touching 78° about 20 miles north of the house. Then, we must have passed through a front as things went to cloudy and cooler and by the time we got to Madisonville (approximately 75 miles further north) it was 64° and we were both wishing we had dressed a little warmer. Needed to add some layering to the T-shirts and mesh jackets, but had none. After lunch we started heading south in search of the scavenger hunt target and we luckily found sunshine and warmer temperatures pretty quickly, making for a nice ride the rest of the day. The new Avon Cobra Chrome rear tire performed above expectations and if wet performance and mileage are as expected I hope I will never have to put OEM Bridgestones on the SVTC again, unless supply chain issues force me to.

Good Morning! I managed a ride with some friends (yes, I have friends!) yesterday. A chilly and somewhat damp start with a mist and 48°, but it slowly warmed up and dried up to a balmy 55° when we stopped for lunch in Dripping Springs. It wasn't until after we all got home that the sun finally peeked out and it went up to 63°. Forecast calls for close to 80° today though still cloudy. I guess I might have to go out for a ride again today (sigh).

Rode a couple hundred miles to our overnight in San Marcos. Tomorrow morning going to the Police Bike Chute-Out (Cotpmco) competition in Buda (just up the road) and watch those guys show off and make me think I should sell my bike and go back to less challenging transportation. Oh well, maybe something will rub off by just watching them.

Weather today was great in terms of temperature (68 to 73F all day) and clear blue skies. Only downside was gale force winds almost all day from the north. Ruined my gas mileage when pointed north and blew me all over the road when hitting from the sides. Tomorrow should be same skies and temperatures but less wind.....thank goodness.

Most of your ride was north or west. I'll bet you were hitting some serious winds at times. But you're right, today should be gorgeous as it goes to 80° and all blue skies! I hope to see you there. If you have any trouble finding them they usually set up behind Cabela's.

Nice ride over, did you see any blue bonnets yesterday? Have fun.

Mornin Sirs. Sounds like a great event. I wish I had more to contribute here than if it is snowing or not. It is by the way.

I technically have nothing to do today and was going to tough it out and try workin in the garage but the wind is pretty strong & making it seem colder than it is. I guess it will be a computer day.

Safe rides.

Saw some, you can kind of see them in the Relive picture of the Washington County sign. Will be going home a different route, through Navasota and Montgomery (on TX-105) and hope to see a better representation. Still a week or two early for maximum bloom, but hope it's fairly good. Of course distracted drivers are at their worst while gawking at the bloom fields through their phones while trying to drive at the same time.......

Not the worst winds I've ever been in, but pretty rough at times. Weather guys this morning said there were gusts in the 50's and 60's in the areas I rode, and I believe them. I hope to never match my worst wind experience, that 1/2 a day was wild. Heading to Cabela's soon, should be there a after 9:30.

Went to the Police Chute Out in Buda and watched professionals handle big bikes like the were Schwinn Stingrays. Those guys are good. They had 147 contestants from Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico (that I heard, maybe others as well) and I probably only saw 30 or 40. Saw one or two feet touch the ground and a couple of cones got hit, but many of those guys were just blasting through the course without issue. One poor fellow went all the way down, but all the course marshalls just watched as I guess the rules are you have to finish the ride on your own. Felt bad for him and it took him a couple of more feet down and cones hit before he recovered his composure and finished the course without further issues. But his body language conveyed maximum pissed off. They are a competitive bunch.

Relive of today's ride cut off at Dayton for some reason, but that last 15 miles to home are pretty boring (most of the time). And the bluebonnets weren't in full bloom yet even in their usual hotspots. I think it just a couple of weeks to early to get the really big show. Much warmer today, overdressed just a tad until it cooled off later in the evening. Winds were much calmer and more to my back so it made for a much easier ride with better MPG to boot.

After breakfast this morning Carla and I were sitting there trying to decide which task needed to be done today. We kept looking out the window at a sunny, 80 degree day and both concluded it was just to nice not to go for a ride. So we headed out to ride around the Twisted Sisters area. We normally don't ride that area on weekends as too many "want to be" racers are out there. Luckily for us there were actually not many bikes out, but a lot of car clubs which are actually worst because they have a hard time staying in their lane. We road for a while, stopped and got some ice cream, stopped one other time before getting dinner on way home. The video below has the Relive video at the beginning then some of my helmet cam video. I shot a lot of video from the bike cam, but sun washed out a lot of it. The helmet camera had less sun washout so I used that. Was definitely a great day to ride.
