Let's start a daily ride thread. Maybe you went out on a ride without a set destination. We can post those rides in this thread.

I'll start.

Got a short ride in. Plan was for a longer ride but way to much traffic. I normally don't ride on weekends, but was to nice a day not to.

You've been giving them rides through the best the Hill Country has to offer.

Thanks. I tried to make sure they got a taste of the entire area. When we were over by the tunnel park I had planned to take them to where all the old cars were that you took me to. But started to rain and cut the ride short. We road 769 miles in the hill county in three days. What was cool, we didn't duplicate more than 20 miles of any road.

Here's the video from today's ride. It's pretty long but was just such a nice day didn't want to cut much.

I haven’t been on the forum much since I got the front end together Wednesday, but I have been riding as much as work allows. I have been collecting old movie theater pics for a contest our EWMA district is hosting. I found that only 1 in 4 is still in the movie showing business. Here’s a sample:

Was a great ride on some amazing roads. The wild flowers were in full bloom. Sun was out the entire day with most of day in upper 80s. Thanks Olaf for finding the route and leading the way. We had 8 bikes and 11 people.

I have some videos that I'll post after I get home tomorrow or maybe Monday.

Damn Les, you're finding places I haven't been, and I didn't think that was possible! Great pics and great roads. You'll have to share your routes.

Well, I'm finally getting my Nomad out of the garage today for a ride. I'll be leading a group of 8 others through the Hill Country, winding up at Vista Brewery in Driftwood for lunch. Today should be a great day with highs in the 70's, sunny and hardly any humidity. No promise on pictures, but I'll try to remember!!!!

Here's the video I shot over the weekend. Warning, it's long. Alot was trimmed due to sun busts making video unwatchable. It turned out to one of the best riding adventures Carla and I have ever had.

And my Relive video on our way home.

My friend from Iowa came in today. After riding 1200 miles on back roads over the last two days he wanted to go for a ride today. So took him for a short ride this afternoon.

Was definitely a great day riding with Iowa buddy. We got a little damp, but neither of us melted. Hats off to Brad, for his first time on these roads, he kept a very respectful pace. He got to ride some very different terrain. We're doing the ride up to Kerrville on 16 tomorrow, stopping by Stonehenge then down 39. I didn't start the Relive video until we had been on the road for a bit, so it's about 50 miles short.

Been completely bummed and jealous with @lesblank and his Iowan guest's adventures the last 5 or 6 days, so I decided to take a day off from adulting and worrying about yucky weather and just go waste some hydrocarbons. I've been by the statue of Sam Houston on I-45 many times since it was built in 1994 but never stopped to look closely, so finally took time to do that. While at the visitor center there I saw a poster about the Mr. Hamburger restaurant a few miles away in Huntsville located right across the street from the released prisoner's exit door of one of the Huntsville State Prisons. It's claim to fame is that it is very popular with the newly freed folks getting their first "taste" of freedom. Add to that one of their burgers was called "Old Sparky" (named after the now retired Texas electric chair) I just had to find out. Turns out it is a breaded, deep fried hamburger patty with the normal condiments plus "Texas Summer Sauce" which adds a nice kick without being overwhelming. Not necessarily healthy, but pretty good tasting.

The Walker County courthouse is about 2 blocks away from the Mr. Hamburger (and the prison), so looped around and got a caught that. I'll post that on the Court House thread

Having to get used to the little blind spot "button" mirrors I recently installed on the factory mirrors. They help with my view of what's going on behind me, but as I do my normal visual scan of the road conditions I found that the extra "information" in the mirrors would catch my eye and make me think something was happening right next to me. I'm sure I'll get comfortable with it in short order and the extra view will be worth the learning curve.

Got lightly sprinkled on a couple of times, but not enough to get anything other than the windshield slightly wet.

I'm now well overdue for an oil change, so that's on tomorrow's agenda for the predicted rainy morning.

Just completed the last footage of Brad's, friend from Iowa, video taken last Thursday. It was raining off and on and a lot of footage had water spray. But here's some decent footage. For those who know the area, this is on 16 from Medina to Kerrville.

--Edit-- I am trying to upload a High Definition version now, so hang on a few more minutes.
From this morning's ride to the bakery. We are on Rex.
Pretty Pillion used her cellphone to record the video. It doesn't look as good on YouTube as It does on her phone or on Facebook.

This is on the infamous Joplin Rd in Prince William County, where several motorcycles meet their end each year. Try this link...

The 1080P version is on YouTube. One has to manually select it as YouTube defaults to 360 if not told otherwise. 1080 version looks good.

Rode to the 2023 Texas Meet & Greet in Belton yesterday and then back home today. Haven't looked at any of the GoPro video but nothing too exciting happened. If I find anything good I'll post later.

The Relive from Saturday. Brad (from Iowa via @lesblank's cabin) joined us in Bryan and rode the rest of the way into Belton with us. He got to see a Bucee's fuel/food/souvenir shop/zoo for himself and declared it "crazy" or something similar. I agree, as will everyone in Texas familiar with the Bucee's chain. They do have the cleanest restrooms.....

The Relive from Sunday. Once again, Brad joined us in Bryan, except this time going the opposite direction. Rode a few miles in the Sam Houston National Forest on our way in. He says he's not used to seeing 75 MPH speed limits on 2 lane black tops with no shoulder. But, I think he'll agree it makes for more smiles per mile. We will do some SE Texas Piney Woods riding tomorrow and maybe more.

Here's the Relive.

Was a great ride except the last 5 miles when I tried to outrun the rain and hail store, which I failed. On my road to my cabin, there's no where to pull over to wait it out. On a positive note, found out trike does well in a flash flood. I got off the trike, walked up on porch and filmed this. Look at the water runoff that I zoomed in on. If you ever wondered where I got the nickname "Loose Nut", this video might help explain.
