On several other forums, they have food threads. We have the on-the-road food thread but not an at home thread. So, without further adieu, post up what is cooked, smoked, grilled and so on at your domicile.

Last night, Pretty Pillion made some awesome soup for the cold weather; it is called Nilaga. In it is beef ribs, green beans, corn on the cob, potatoes, onions, salt and pepper corns.

This is so wholesome and delicious!

It is so good to be home from the frozen mountains. We ate good while there as each of my coworkers took turns cooking our supper.
Pretty Pillion saw a dish cooked for us one night, Shepards Pie, and decided she wanted to make it tonight. She nailed it first try!
She sauteed the onions, garlic and then added the ground beef and thyme, rosemary, parley.

That looks great. I love Shepherds Pie. The version my family makes is very similar but the beef goes in the bottom by itself then cans of corn are poured over in a middle layer before the taters are on top. I’ll try it like you did next time.

This is the perfect time of year for it. I can verify for my Texas brothers, if you shovel snow for a couple hours, a bowl of ShepPie may well be remembered as the best food you ever ate.

Back when Virginia used to have winter, I can verify that after shoveling snow for three hours, a Dark Hollow 28oz bottle of beer will sit you down real good and comfy...;)

Up here it is common to have whiskey in your coffee before you head out to clear the snow. Also had a cup while you try to start the snow blower, and while you fix the snow blower, and while you snow blow. I had to buy a new snowblower as I could no longer afford the whiskey required to keep it running.

I recently discovered that Pretty Pillion has only had lasagna once before and couldn't remember if it was good or not! This must be fixed immediately!!!
So, I made lasagna last night after work.

She loved it and I gained 2.5# from overeating.
