I had a 20 year gap after I sold my Kawi KZ400 around 1986. My daughter was getting to the age where she became my focus during my off time because work was taking 50-60 hours per week away from her. When my wife spotted some bikes passing us one day she suggested we start riding again I got my Kawi 900 in 2008. Yup, my wife's a keeper!
When I bought that bike I told my wife that I felt I would only be able to ride till I was 62 or 63 (I was 55 at the time). Here I am 70 and not just riding, but riding long distance trips. Age is definitely a factor but while some of the reflexes may slow down, experience increases and you ride smarter. So, as I raise my coffee cup in a toast, here's to all of us "ancient" folks that simply want to enjoy life on a motorcycle!
