My wife saw the shirt and asked what the age span was of our forum. So here's a quick survey, participate if you wish. I'm not trying to be noisy, just curious. Of course my wife says age and maturity have nothing in common, she says I'm mentally a 2 year old in an old man's body.

I started both young and late. First bike was an enduro at 12 and rode during my teens on a CB450. A decades long pause in riding ensued then picked up riding again late 40's. I turned 60 a couple weeks ago & like Les I am essentially a 12 year old most of the time.

I had a 20 year gap after I sold my Kawi KZ400 around 1986. My daughter was getting to the age where she became my focus during my off time because work was taking 50-60 hours per week away from her. When my wife spotted some bikes passing us one day she suggested we start riding again I got my Kawi 900 in 2008. Yup, my wife's a keeper!

When I bought that bike I told my wife that I felt I would only be able to ride till I was 62 or 63 (I was 55 at the time). Here I am 70 and not just riding, but riding long distance trips. Age is definitely a factor but while some of the reflexes may slow down, experience increases and you ride smarter. So, as I raise my coffee cup in a toast, here's to all of us "ancient" folks that simply want to enjoy life on a motorcycle!

Les, is this about our actual age or the number of summers we have rode in? I clicked the 41-45 button as that is how many I have ridden in.

Based on the pictures I've seen of many of the forum members, and the small group that I've met face to face, we mostly belong in the old codger's club. I took 38 years off before climbing back on a borrowed full dress Road King in 2008. Serious pucker moments after being off bikes (500 pound Z1) for so long and then get re-trained on the biggest bike (800+ pound) I had ever been on (to that point). Lived to tell the tale and there wasn't any going back.
