You have a video camera and have some footage you want to post. The first thing you want to do is edit out your backside as you walked around the bike if camera is bike mounted. Or maybe that great shot of your nose hair while putting your helmet mounted with camera. Oh, come on, we've all done that. So, what editing software do you use? How steep of a learning curve did it have? Why did you choose it? Does it do everything you want it to do? How long does it take you to edit? How do you decide what stays and what goes? I'm going to call @GARider out on this topic, in my opinion he makes great riding videos.

For those who don't either film or edit your rides, what do you like seeing? How long is the right length? Do you like exhaust with wind noise in background or music?

I use VideoPad Video Maker by NCH Software. @GARider had suggested another free software that he uses. I'm like an old dog trying to learn a new trick and not doing well. My granddaughter who is a theater major in college, yes, I'm that old, uses VideoPad and is a quick phone call away when I have issues. There is a $34 license fee, but worth it to me. I probably use 10 percent on the capabilities of the program to make my semi watchable videos.

Length of video is tough. Most won't watch a long unprofessional made online video, three minutes seems to be the magic length. You can easily track who, how long and other info on YouTube uploaded videos. My average watch time was 3 minutes till I started loading some Shorts (videos less than 1 minute long) and it dropped real quick. 2.1% click thru my videos.

I'll admit I'm good at all making the videos, but have fun trying. The video below has received the most likes. Vik is the mascot on another forum and I had fun with the video.

That's some interesting stuff about what you can do on youtube. I'll probably check that out later. Believe it or not, I actually have 3 or 4 subscribers to my channel 😄.

For me I use a software called movavi. A few years ago when free software was available I couldn’t flip a video that filmed upside flipped and found out about the Movavi software, it was inexpensive and has many features and functions for what I needed and wanted.
So when I create a video I upload the entire length and then just splice it up into chunks.
You can edit the audio separately very easy and add new audio.
I do know there are some good quality free software out there now. This movavi was a free software but many limitations and one of them was flipping the video image so I paid the $12 for the software (I used a code to get it this cheap).
Also many of us from this forum and another forum use the same camera, the winbook.
I also have a polaroid cube and a GoPro model 2018.

Editing videos can be a real pain, especially when you've got to cut out shots of your nose hairs or backside. Been there, done that! I use the YouTube Video Editor Online to edit my footage. It's super easy-to-use software; the best part is that it's free! You can check it out here: https://www.movavi.com/youtube-video-editor-online.html. The learning curve was steep at first, but it was smooth sailing once I got the hang of it. I chose it because of its simplicity and because it does everything I need it to do. I hope you and I quickly get the hang of it, and I wish you good luck in this.
