It's winter time with most having questionable riding weather. So it's a great time to plan this year's rides. So, are you planning any rides?

I have a few on my calendar:

April 14th - 16th
Destination: Llano, Texas

This will be a multiple day trip. This is only a two hour drive from my house on the northern section of the Hill County. There's right at 10 of us going from another forum I'm on. Will be a short ride there, an afternoon ride, then second day will be a full day ride. Then third day head home. I've ridden with this group several times and enjoy their safe riding pace.

April 22
One day Multi Forum Meet and Greet:

Have about 15 folks signed up so far, hopefully more will join in as we get closer.

Now one of my bucket list trips.

October 5 - 8
Big Ben / Alpine Ride
There's currently 10 rooms booked for this one, same group as the Llano weekend. I've never been to Big Ben and have always wanted to.

Carla is going on the above trip, hotels are booked, I'm ready to go.

Hopefully y'all have some trips at least in the early planning stages. Post them up, then a full write up when completed.

To add to this list, looking forward to many rides this year with @CarGuy. We have one other who rides with us. Everyone remember, I do have an extra bedroom you are welcome use if riding in my area.

So far the only lengthy ride I have planned is to knock out 25 of the Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas. I'm still in the process of mapping out the route but will probably go in either April to beat the heat, or November when the heat subsides. I'll do it with some other riding buddies. Last year the trip was about 1500 miles but this year looks like it'll be a little more. I'll probably do another ld trip this year but haven't thought that far ahead yet. Maybe to nw Arkansas. There's some good riding up there!
Like @lesblank, I'll be riding up to Lake Belton for the get-together on April 22nd and will be riding most of the way up there with him.

No planned rides per say. If I were to take a road trip I wouldn't mind hitting the Florida panhandle. Old stomping grounds for me. Don't knock the flat straight roads, they make for good MC riding also. ;)
When I was in Pensacola for training (Navy) in 1971 I would ride my Suzuki TS250 out on the dunes along the beach. I even managed to drown it once! There weren't many people living on the beach at that time and the riding was unlimited. Fast forward to 2013 when I revisited that area on my 900LT. Dang but the dunes were mostly gone and there were houses, apartments, condo's and people everywhere. I barely recognized the place!

I work a lot, so am very limited as to any extended rides. A few vacation days this summer will be dedicated to riding though. I'm going to do the trip I was unable to do this year, head down to Connecticut to check out the New England Motorcycle museum, maybe even Long Island for the famed "Mansion Ride" and meander my way back home.

I can relate to the limited ride time due to work. Look forward to the ride report and even shorter rides.
I'm glad you mentioned short rides. My first impression here was that this forum was more focused on long distance riding and I wouldn't have anything to add. As for me, my Motorcycle Therapy is had in two or three hour doses.

I'm looking into action cameras now. I've already checked out the camera thread here and have a couple of contenders in mind.

The forum was started for Motorcycle Therapy, could be a trip around the block or around the world. Definitely post pictures or videos of any rides. I love seeing other areas of the world. When you get a video camera there's a few of us that's been doing it for a while. I'm not very good at it but can definitely tell you what not to do. ;)

We have one trip almost certain, a mini-Rockets Across America meet up in Richwood, WV. This coming June. The riding around that area is simply amazing.
Here's a couple of shots from the same event in 2020.

I hope posting this doesn't jinx the whole operation, but the plan is to move MIL out of my house to Temple to stay with one of her other daughters, with the move date set for January 31. That still leaves time for it to blow up but getting close enough that I'm feeling pretty cocky. If it happens (and stays happened) my impromptu and planned rides/trips will instantly become 1000% more flexible and doable. Once I have her firmly entrenched in her new abode I hope I can start making some plans and have something constructive to add to the thread. In the meantime.......🙏

Hi! I’m new to the forum. While I usually ride or tow and ride solo, I like to plan a trip to include a bike event such as scavenger hunt or club rally to meet other riders for group rides. So far I’ve got trips planned for June and August and am looking for suggestions from the forum for May and July. My departure point is Chicago IL and would consider destinations less than 1000 mi. away. Does anyone have a suggestion for such events in May and July? Please include a link about the event.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello @GWdan and welcome from Virginia. I don't know of one right off the top of my head, but it seems there is something almost every week in the Midwest.

In the meantime, please go to the New Member Introduction thread and create a post about yourself and the bikes you have. Oh, and don't forget to show us the bikes. Especially if you have some shots with those beautiful old barns...

Bikers, Blues and BBQ rally in Rogers Arkansas! A small group and I will be headed their this year with some great riding included! NW Arkansas has some of the best motorcycle roads I've found. We'll be headed up there in September and will be riding the Pig Trail and Talimena Scenic Hwy en route to our hotel in Eureka Springs. None of us has been to the Rally before so it'll be a plus to the great riding. Late September should be some great weather too. An 8 day trip overall.

You’re right - BBB rally in AR is great. I went to it in ’19 held in Fayetteville and I spent the day there with about 1 million other HD riders - the parking lot was a sea of black HD ‘glides. If you had one, I don’t think it was easy to relocate…Here’s a pic of Main St. cruise.

I may go back again this year, if my plan to go to AZ late Sept/early Oct falls through., But if I do go to BBB I would spend some days previous to it riding routes out of Harrison. PM me later this yr. as it gets closer to BBB if you want to ride.

I'll do that! I'll be riding 6 others, though, and we'll be running a pretty tight schedule. At a minimum I can mmet you and shake your hand at the Rally. Our plan calls for us to be at the rally that Saturday.
